Rekko is built to be useful without paying. The Free tier covers a real, day-to-day use case: one private circle, ten tracked shows, a handful of recommendations a month. Premium lifts the caps. The one-time Founders Lifetime pack does that too, plus a written, contractual commitment to the people backing the project early (read the Founders pact).

1. The three tiers

Free

1 circle you own (you can join unlimited circles as a guest).
Up to 3 members per circle (you + 2 friends).
Up to 10 tracked shows or movies in your list. Extras stay safely stored on your device — they reappear automatically the day you upgrade.
Up to 5 search queries per day against the TMDB catalogue. The counter resets at local midnight.
Up to 3 recommendations sent per calendar month. Receiving recommendations is uncapped at every tier.
The show fiche, your journal, ratings, and circle activity all work normally.

Premium

Same monthly recurring subscription, two billing options. Picks up where Free leaves off and unlocks a few quality-of-life features. New subscribers get their first 2 months free on the monthly plan — try everything, and cancel before it renews if it's not for you.

Premium — Yearly: €14.99 / year (≈ 37 % off vs. monthly).
Up to 10 owned circles, up to 10 members per circle.
Unlimited tracked shows, TMDB searches, and recommendations sent.
Compatibility score on each circle member — a 0–100 % gauge based on the shows you've both rated.
Where to watch strip on every show fiche, handing off to the Apple TV app.
Streaming reminders — local notifications on the air date of new episodes of the series you track.
Renews automatically until cancelled in iOS Settings. Cancel any time.

Founders Lifetime

A single payment, no renewal, every premium feature unlocked forever — plus a few perks that exist only at this tier.

€29.99 — once. Available only during the launch window. After the window closes, the SKU disappears and is never re-opened.
Everything in Premium, with the per-circle ceiling raised to 20 members (the CloudKit ceiling).
Unlimited owned circles.
Cinephile mode — per-circle blur on ratings and comments until you've rated each show yourself, so other members' takes can't anchor your own opinion.
Ephemeral circles — circles that auto-delete after a chosen duration (one day, one week, one month).
Golden avatar ring — a thin gold ring around your avatar in every circle, visible to every other member.
Alternate gold home-screen icon — opt in from Settings whenever you want it.
Five contractual commitments written into the Founders pact: no ads ever, no future purchases required, guaranteed data export, voice on the roadmap, permanent TestFlight access.

3. Restore, refund, switch tiers

Restore. One tap in the paywall reads every receipt on your Apple ID and reactivates whichever tier you previously bought. Works across devices automatically.
Refund. Refunds are processed by Apple, via the Report a Problem flow on reportaproblem.apple.com. Rekko reacts to Apple's revocation event within a few seconds: caps snap back to Free, hidden tracked shows stay safely on your device, the Founders ring and icon are removed.
Switching plans. Move freely from Premium Monthly to Premium Yearly via the App Store's subscription management. Upgrading a Premium subscriber to Founders Lifetime is a one-time purchase; the subscription stays separate and can be cancelled at any time.
Family Sharing. Not enabled in v1.0 — circles are personal to one Apple ID. We may revisit later.

4. Why this pricing

Rekko has no servers we operate and no growth incentives that depend on time-on-app. Premium pays for the App Store cut, the TMDB attestation relay, and the work to keep the app maintained. The Founders pack is for the people who want to back the project once, get the experience without a subscription, and hold us to a written set of commitments — see the Founders pact.

5. Hidden, not deleted

When a Free user has more than 10 tracked shows (because they were previously Premium, or imported a list), the extras are hidden, not deleted. They remain in your local database, untouched. The day you re-subscribe, the list re-expands and everything reappears in its original order. Same logic for circles beyond the 1-owned cap: the first row stays interactive, the rest are dimmed but preserved.

6. Receipts, taxes, and EU compliance

All purchases are routed through Apple. Apple handles receipts, VAT, invoicing in your local currency, and revocation rules. We never see your card details or your billing address. Subscription terms and auto-renewal disclosures are presented by iOS in the standard paywall sheet at purchase time.
